Are you searching for a delightful natural campsite in Portugal? Welcome to Quinta do Retiro! Here, we provide spacious pitches right in the heart of authentic Portugal. While our camping area is terraced, the pitches are flat and easily accessible for motorhomes and caravans. For true tent enthusiasts, we have beautiful, hidden grassy spots just for you. Each pitch is thoughtfully arranged to ensure that you can enjoy stunning views from any point on the campsite. This charming natural campsite in Portugal is cherished by campers who value tranquility, space, and nature. We are open from April 1st to mid-October each year, and we eagerly await your arrival!
Our grass and hard surface pitches are quite spacious and unmarked, offering you the privacy you desire. For tent campers and those with small campers, we have some lovely secluded spots that you’ll adore. If you’re seeking rural camping away from the hustle and bustle, we offer some truly charming pitches for you. We’re happy to share recommendations for various walking, cycling, and driving routes nearby. And if you’re looking to cool off after a warm day, feel free to take a dip in our beautifully designed natural swimming pool, free from chlorine and salt. Enjoy your stay!
Facilities
Our pitches have everything you need for a comfortable stay, including a handy socket for electricity (16 or 10 amp) and a cold water point just a stone’s throw away! You’ll love our modern sanitary building, which includes three roomy family bathrooms, toilets, two washing areas, and a washing machine available for everyone to use. Plus, there’s a cozy mini-bar to enjoy! For the little ones, there’s a fantastic playground filled with a climbing frame, swings, a slide, a sandbox, a large in-ground trampoline, and table tennis—oh, and don’t forget about our amazing natural pool! Kids can have fun exploring the park, especially by the river. And when you need to empty your motorhome or caravan, simply head over to the convenient dumping point at the reception. To top it off, our friendly local baker brings fresh bread to us every day!

Grasspitches are very nice & spacious campingpitches with a lot of privacy. It is covered by grass and can place a small caravan or campervan, a pop-up trailer or any size of (roof)tent.

Campingpitch Tent rural
Campingpitch rural on grass is a very nice way of camping with the most of privacy for those campingpeople that would like to go back to original camping: on grass and remote.

Reservation prior to arrival/Online booking
Given the limited number of pitches at our quinta it is advisable that you make an online reservation prior to arrival over this website. If that is not possible, you can call us, phone (+351-238 603 384: (Chamada para a rede fixa nacional) or email (welcome@quintadoretiro.com). You can also use the Whatsapp possibility on this website.
Please note! Route
Your navigation software (especially Google Maps) can take you into narrow streets or slopes in this region where you do not want to be with your camper or caravan. Therefore, set your navigation software to ‘caravan-camper-truck-bus’ or whatever is possible that matches your situation. As an extra waypoint, include: ‘Venda da Esperança’ in your navigation. You then enter the area where our park is located via the N17. This is a beautiful but above all safe route for Campers and/or Caravans. In ‘Venda da Esperança’ your software will guide you to our park via the CM1308; again a safe route of about 4 km. The last few hundred meters follow the signs to Quinta do Retiro ParCampismo. Please use our intercom system at reception, even if you just can’t figure it out yourself. 🙂

“This campsite really is lovely. The owners are very friendly, the site is clean and well laid out. Lovely views from our pitch. The toilet blocks are the best I’ve seen and the natural fresh water pool is fantastic – the kids loved it.! The land has pear trees, apple, orange and grape vines on it. It has a lovely natural stream running through the land.
Wifi is also great which is a bonus for the kids. The owner come to check on you to make sure you have everything you need. They order fresh bread from the village daily for each family. They also operate an honesty box for cold drinks at the poolside and use of the washing machine. The toilet blocks also have great dish washing area a fridge and freezer for use by the guests and an ironing board. This really is a lovely site. Bonus they spoke English plus many other languages”.
